Types of Contribution

ARECLS will accept the seven following types of contributions:

• Research Articles

Your research articles should be 3000-4000 words in length.
In addition, they should include abstracts of no more than 150 words summarising your main points.
They should present ideas or information and/or discuss findings that advance the fields of Education, Communication and Applied Language Sciences.
Authors should explain the significance of their study and supply 5 keywords for their study. Data instruments should be included as appendices in jpeg format. These need not be included in the word count.

• Literature Review Articles

Our literature review articles should be 3000-4000 words in length.
In addition, they should include abstracts no more than 150 words summarizing your main points and supply five keywords for the study. Contributors are urged to bear in mind the following criteria when developing their submission/s:

• Articles should be of current interest in Education, Communication and Applied Language Sciences and of relevance to the readers of "ARECLS".
• They should be clearly and coherently written so that the contents are internally consistent and accessible to the readership.
• Articles must demonstrate an awareness of important recent work carried out in the area on which they report and reflect the state of the art.

By adhering to these guidelines, contributors can ensure the integrity and impact of their submissions, thereby enriching the scholarly discourse within the aforementioned domains.

• Reports on Conferences

Conference reports may be written of conferences relevant to the scope of this journal. These reports should contain full information on the conference, including website links. Reports may review various aspects of the conference including plenary and parallel sessions, papers presented, and discussions or workshops. Contributions are encouraged to provide in depth analysis and insights into the proceedings, highlighting key themes, notable presentations, and significant discussions that occur during the event.

• Thesis Abstracts

We publish abstracts of research theses which have been submitted in the School of Education, Communication and Applied Language Sciences.
Abstracts should be submitted following the general guidelines in this document and should contain:
• Name of graduate
• Degree obtained
• Year of graduation
• Full title of thesis
• Name of supervisor(s)
• Abstract of no more than 1000 words
• Current contact details and biodata (if desired)

• Interviews with Academics

Interviews may be conducted with academics on issues of current importance.
The interviews should contain an introduction and then continue in question and answer format.
The text should be 3000-4000 words in length.

• Forum Correspondence

The forum section contains responses to articles previously published in ARECLS and discussion of issues raised.
There is a maximum 1500 words. This submission should follow the submission guidelines.
As provided in guidelines .

• Book Reviews, Reports and Notices on Teaching Materials, Technology and Media

Your submissions here should adhere to the following:

Length: Reviews or reports should not exceed 2000 words.
Focus: They should review books or evaluate teaching materials related to Education, Communication and Applied Language Sciences including books, textbooks, dictionaries, computer software or websites.
Components: should include the following:
• Five keywords.
• A table of basic information at the beginning of the report, detailing relevant categories such as title, author, publisher, publication date, ISBN, and any other pertinent details.
• A concise general description of the product (i.e., what is it and what does it try to do?), evaluating the product (i.e., its effectiveness in achieving its objectives, identifying its target audience, highlighting its benefits and challenges or shortcomings)

• How to Submit

Contributions must be sent to the following address: arecls@ncl.ac.uk.
Send your contribution as an MS Word attachment in two versions.
Version A should be anonymous, i.e. it will not contain your name or your biographical data. Version B should have your name after the title on the first page and have a biographical data section as the final section of the document.
Attachment filenames should include the version but not include your name, e.g. thinking skillsversion A and thinking skills version B. A word-count must be included.
Your email should state that you are submitting for ARECLS and should specify which type of contribution you are attaching.

Proofs

One revision to pending publications will be returned to the author.

Publication

Publications selected for the year's ARECLS journal will be available to read and download in the Current Volume section
